A support email address will be published here before Handler is released.
We'll never ask for your receipts, statements or passwords. Your data stays on your iPhone, so we can't see it.
Getting started
Open Handler and follow the short introduction. Handler opens on five tabs: Summary, Budget, Vault, Upcoming and the Assistant. To look around before adding your own things, load sample documents from Settings, and remove them later.
Adding receipts and documents
Tap + at the top of any tab, then choose Scan Receipt, Scan Document, Choose from Photos or Choose from Files. Handler reads what you add, suggests what kind of document it is, and asks you to confirm.
A receipt didn't read cleanly
- Lay the receipt flat in good, even light, and fill the frame.
- Scan a long receipt in one pass rather than in pieces.
- Check the quick review: the photo sits beside what Handler read, so you can fix anything in a tap.
- Items Handler isn't sure of wait in Review, where you can correct them.
A category is wrong
Open the item or transaction and choose the right category. Handler never overwrites a category you've picked.
Importing a statement file
Choose a CSV, OFX or QFX file from your bank with + and Choose from Files. You'll see a preview before anything is saved, and transactions you've already imported are skipped. A CSV needs a date, a description and an amount column.
Connecting a bank
Go to Budget, then Accounts, and tap Connect a Bank. You'll sign in on Plaid's and your bank's own pages, so Handler never sees your banking password. New transactions then arrive by themselves.
Handler asks me to sign in to my bank again
Banks sometimes ask you to confirm access again. In Accounts, tap the sign-in button under that bank and follow your bank's steps. Your existing transactions stay put.
Disconnecting a bank
In Accounts, tap Disconnect under the bank. New transactions stop, and those already on your iPhone stay until you delete them. To review every app connected through Plaid, visit my.plaid.com.
Budgets and envelopes
Set up envelopes in Budget, then Envelopes, and assign an amount to each for the month. Overview shows what's left to spend and which envelopes are on track or over. Each envelope can roll unspent money into the next month; the switch is off until you turn it on.
Reminders and widgets
I'm not getting reminders
Open the Settings app, tap Notifications, then Handler, and make sure Allow Notifications is on. Reminders are scheduled on your iPhone, so they work without a connection.
Adding a widget
Touch and hold an empty area of your Home Screen, tap Edit, then Add Widget, and search for Handler.
Showing amounts on widgets
Widgets and notifications don't show amounts unless you allow it. Choose which ones may show a receipt's amounts or photo in Handler's Settings, under Privacy & Security. Banking and budgets never appear outside the app.
The assistant
Open the Assistant tab and ask about your spending, receipts, documents or deadlines. It runs on your iPhone, and each answer links to the receipts it used.
Backup and a new iPhone
Turn on iCloud backup in Handler's Settings. Handler encrypts everything before it leaves your iPhone and shows you a Recovery Key once. Keep it somewhere safe.
On a new iPhone signed in to the same Apple Account, open Handler and choose to restore. If iCloud Keychain isn't available, enter your Recovery Key. Health-related documents aren't included in the backup.
Privacy settings
Private Cloud Compute
When your iPhone can't finish reading a receipt, Handler can ask Apple's Private Cloud Compute. It's on by default. Turn it off in Handler's Settings, where you can also see recent requests, without their content.
Read exactly what's stored and where in the Privacy Policy.
Requirements
Handler is coming first to iPhone, in English- and Spanish-speaking countries, with Android to follow. On iPhone it needs iOS 27 or later on an iPhone that supports Apple Intelligence. Bank connections are available wherever Plaid supports your bank.
